Anuja Mehta, MD

Dr. Anuja Mehta is a board certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist. She completed her Undergraduate and Medical School training at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, Florida. She remained at UF for her General Psychiatry training program. Afterward, she went to Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School to complete a fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Mehta has been with the UCF College of Medicine since 2016. She served as Assistant Clerkship Director for a year, followed by serving as the Clerkship Director of Psychiatry for another 18 months. She took over the leadership of UCF/HCA’s Greater Orlando Psychiatry Residency program in August 2019. She currently maintains her clinical practice at Nemours Children’s Hospital. She has authored peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, and presented numerous posters and workshops on topics ranging from ADHD, childhood anxiety, narrative medicine, and promoting resilience and wellness.

Dr. Mehta has a long-standing passion for teaching. She led the Psychiatry Resident In training Examination review sessions for her fellow peers in residency. During fellowship training, she was selected to participate in the Harvard-Macy Institute’s Program for training Future Academic Clinician Educators. Currently, she oversees the didactic curriculum for all 4 years of psychiatry residents. In addition, she maintains an active role with UCF medical students by teaching in preclinical years and the psychiatry clerkship, offering an Academic Psychiatry elective for M4 students. She also serves as a research mentor and specialty career adviser for medical students.

Dr. Mehta is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Florida Psychiatric Society, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training.
