    Dr. Arnold D. Chung is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgical approaches to disorders and disease of the lung. He is the only fellowship-trained and robotic-trained thoracic surgeon in Las Vegas.

    Dr. Chung also was the first surgeon in Las Vegas to perform a wedge resection and lobectomy utilizing a robotic system. Dr. Chung is very passionate about caring for patients with lung cancer and providing treatment options and surgical interventions. He is the Market Medical Director of the Lung Nodule Program which he oversees to detect lung cancer earlier in high-risk individuals allowing for earlier intervention and treatment. He is also the Medical Director of Thoracic Surgery at MountainView Hospital and Southern Hills Hospital.

    Originally from Seven Hills, Ohio, Dr. Chung completed a seven-year combined Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine Program at Boston University and the Boston University School of Medicine, graduating in 2002. He then underwent training in general surgery at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont.

    It was during this time that his interest in cardiothoracic surgery led him to further his education at the University of North Carolina, a fully accredited, three-year program in cardiothoracic surgery. Following that training, Dr. Chung undertook a one-year fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for minimally invasive techniques in regards to lung cancer. Under the supervision of Drs. Robert McKenna, Ali Mahtabifard and Harmik Soukiasian, Dr. Chung developed the skills necessary to surgically treat the most challenging thoracic pathologies and mastered techniques including video assisted (VATS) for treating lung cancer and esophageal disease.
