    Dr. Ernest F. Block is the Trauma Medical Director and a surgeon at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, which is a Level II Trauma Center. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University with a double major in History of Art and Biology. After receiving a Medical Doctorate the University of Miami School Of Medicine, he completed his General Surgery Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Block then completed Fellowship programs in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has chaired committees and held multiple offices in related professional organizations including President of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Chair of the Florida Committee on Trauma, President of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and President of the Florida Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is the immediate past State Trauma Medical Director for the Florida Department of Health. Dr. Block has published over 50 scientific papers, book chapters and monographs. He is also the producer of multiple medical motion pictures and is State Faculty for the Advanced Trauma Life Support program. He is a reservist at the rank of Commander in the United States Navy.
