Jason Grabert, MD, FACEP, FAAEM

Dr. Jason Grabert spent the first fifteen years of his career practicing emergency medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada. Originally from Pennsylvania, he graduated from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2001 and the Geisinger Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2004. At Geisinger, Dr. Grabert was the Chief Flight Physician for the residency program flying on over 100 aeromedical missions. He then joined a large emergency physician group in Las Vegas where he became teaching faculty for Touro University Nevada School of Osteopathic Medicine educating medical students and residents from various specialties. He also became an instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support at University Medical Center, the only level one trauma center in Nevada. Dr. Grabert has held multiple administrative roles including Vice Chairman of the emergency department at Desert Springs Hospital from 2007 to 2009 and Quality Director of all emergency departments for the Valley Health System from 2016 to 2018; a system consisting of eight emergency departments and over 300,000 emergency visits per year. As quality director, he was responsible for authoring many system protocols which were parlayed into use on a national basis. He also had the unfortunate responsibility of reviewing the hospital system response to the October 1, 2017, Route 91 Harvest Festival mass casualty shooting where 851 people were injured, 422 of them with gunshot wounds, and 58 fatalities. Feeling the need to build a great EM residency program to educate the future of emergency medicine, Dr. Grabert joined HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine GME:Oak Hill Hospital Program as the Assistant Program Director in 2019.

Dr. Grabert maintains academic activity as a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Physicians. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Nevada ACEP and was a councilor for national ACEP in 2018. He has presented to various organizations including American Medical Response, EmCare/Envision, Universal Health Services, Touro University, and UMC/UNLV. Research interests include alternatives to opioid analgesia, trauma, rural emergency care, and stroke/myocardial infarction emergency department throughput.
