    Dr. Juan Sanchez earned a medical degree from the University of Florida and a Master's from Harvard University. He completed residencies in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Georgetown and Yale Universities and was a postdoctoral research fellow at Columbia University. He has held faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins University, Yale University, and the University of Kentucky, among others. His scholarly work has resulted in numerous contributions to the scientific literature, including many high-impact publications, books, chapters, and patents. He has also served on many national boards and committees, including the National Board of Medical Examiners, the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award Program, the American Heart Association, the Association for perioperative Nurses, and the American College of Surgeons.

    Before joining HCA, Dr. Sanchez held leadership positions at Ascension Health and various Academic Medical Centers.
