Mary Downing, MD, FACP

Dr. Mary Downing is a graduate of Duke University and Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine training at Memorial Health University Medical Center and trained in vascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She began her career in private practice, first in Savannah and later in New Orleans. As a native Savannahian, she was drawn to address health disparities in her hometown by training much needed new physicians. She has been core faculty for the internal medicine residency at Memorial since 2012 and was named program director in January, 2020. She has served as co-director for the IM/Savannah accelerated tract program. In 2012, she was appointed to Mercer University School of Medicine faculty where she is an assistant professor of medicine.
