Mike Liang, MD, FACS

Dr. Mike Liang is a board-certified general surgeon with North Houston Specialty Surgery and Bariatrics in Kingwood, Texas. Dr. Liang began his medical studies at the University of Kansas School of Medicine earning his Doctorate in Medicine. He then went on to complete an internship in General Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey followed by a General Surgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.

Dr. Liang is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABOS). Dr. Liang has over 20 years of experience as a general surgeon with special interest in minimally invasive surgery, hernia surgery, and benign foregut surgery. He serves on leadership roles in the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, America's Hernia Society, among others. His clinical research based upon his real-world surgical practice which has transformed general surgery care and has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, British Medical Journal, JAMA Surgery, Annals of Surgery, and others.

Dr. Liang believes that patient care is a partnership between the physician and the patient where engagement and connection from both sides are needed to achieve optimal results. Dr. Liang is a leader in surgical outcomes and quality improvement and integrates cutting edge, evidence-based care in the treatment of his patients. When not treating patients, you will find Dr. Liang outdoors, reading, or spending time with his family who he believes is the most important unity and foundation of an individual and community.
