    Dr. Richard S. Gordon has been in practice for over 16 years and is a general and fellowship trained bariatric surgeon on staff at HCA Florida Bayonet Hospital. Dr. Gordon completed his medical school training at the University of Ottawa, followed by his internship and general surgery residency at the Ottawa Hospital. Dr. Gordon completed his fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Florida in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He is currently the medical director of HCA Florida Largo Hospital weight loss surgery program.

    As a general, bariatric, and minimally invasive surgeon, Dr. Gordon treats conditions and performs procedures related to general and bariatric surgery and can perform many of these procedures robotically. These include gastric sleeve and gastric bypass, hernias repair, gallbladder removal, hiatal hernia and anti-reflux surgery (including LINX), breast surgery, colon resection, skin lesion removal, hemorrhoidectomy, as well as both upper and lower endoscopy.
    Dr. Gordon is board certified in general surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, the American College of Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Gordon's primary office location is in Largo, Florida and he offers a satellite office in Safety Harbor, Florida. He is a member of Tampa Bay Surgical Group.
